یہی ہماری نگاہِ حسرت کبھی پریشاں تمہیں کرے گی
کبھی ہماری یہ جاں نثاری سبب مسرت کا بھی بنے گی
کبھی اِدھر تو ہے بے قراری کبھی اٌدھر تو وہ ہی تغافل
کبھی تو کوئی رہے بھی نازاں اسی سے ہمت ہمیں ملے گی
جنوں کے آثار لگ رہے ہیں مگر وہ ہی ضبط کا ہے عالم
اگرچہ آنسو بھی خشک ہوں گے مگریہ طغیانی تو رہے گی
کبھی وہ دل سے گزر بھی جائیں نہ کوئی احساس ہو بھی اس کا
کبھی تو آواز بھی ہو ایسی کہ اجنبی جیسی وہ لگے گی
یہ آس ہی اثر کی رہے گی اگرچہ زخموں سے چور دل ہے
کبھی تو ہم پر ترس بھی ہوگا کبھی تو چشم کرم پڑے گی

بنایا جب سے شیشے کا گھروندا
ہر اک پتھر کو ڈر کر دیکھتے ہیں
خزانے ہیں مقدر میں انہی کے
جو ہر سیپی میں گوہرِ دیکھتے ہیں
ندیم ہم منتظر کس چیز کے ہیں
کہ بے عملی کو گھر گھر دیکھتے ہیں

میں سچ کہوں تو وہ جھوٹا دکھائی دیتا ہے
یتیم بچے سے پوچھو کبھی کہ کیا اب تک
یہ شہر بھر تجھے اپنا دکھائی دیتا ہے
تیرا وجود تیری حمد ہے کہ جو دیکھے
ہر ایک روپ میں یکتا دکھائی دیتا ہے
تجھے خبر ہی نہیں یہ میری وراثت ہے
یہ اشک جو تجھے ادنیٰ دکھائی دیتا ہے
گلی کے انت میں سچا مزار سائیں کا
گلے کے سامنے کوٹھا دکھائی دیتا ہے
One seems thirsty for memory
